A dataset is an organised collection of examples used to explore a question, test an idea or train and evaluate a machine-learning model. This beginner lesson explains the building blocks in plain English.

A large dataset is not automatically a good one. The examples must be relevant to the task, collected responsibly and checked for errors or gaps.
