Amazon Kids+ UK 2026: Parental Controls and Device Check
Amazon Kids+ is an optional content subscription, while Amazon Kids and Parent Dashboard provide controls for supported child experiences. Treat those as separate decisions. Buying access to more books, videos or games does not by itself establish that the device settings or individual titles suit your child.

Make time and content choices understandable

Use those tools to support an agreed routine, such as a predictable period after a particular daily activity, rather than treating a usage total as a complete account of what happened. Ask what the child enjoyed, found confusing or wants help understanding, and make room for those conversations.
Select a small collection with different purposes: a story to read together, an activity the child can navigate and a familiar choice for a quiet moment. Test any planned downloaded use before leaving reliable connectivity, checking that the particular content opens as expected. Keep a suitable offline alternative available because an empty battery or changed access should not determine the whole family plan.
Review value without confusing it with reassurance
At the next review, list which subscription titles were actually used and whether existing purchased content or other resources already met the same need. Look at the experience as well as the quantity. Repeatedly returning to one familiar book may be entirely appropriate, but it is a different subscription decision from exploring a wide range of included material every week.
If you choose to end Kids+, identify the correct billing route and read the access consequences shown before confirming. Prepare the child for any change to available titles without promising that downloaded subscription content will remain. Recheck the device setup afterwards and keep the useful household routine, with or without a paid catalogue attached to it.
