Make sure updates can reach you
Check the email address and telephone number attached to the reservation. If another person or an agent booked the flight, establish who receives schedule messages and who can act on them. Ask that person to forward a genuine change notification promptly rather than sending only an abbreviated time without the date or other instructions.

Read the complete change, including dates
Compare old and new airport codes, terminals where supplied, local dates and times, and flight numbers. A change across midnight can affect the accommodation night even when the clock difference looks small. If several flights are involved, review each sector instead of assuming only the highlighted one has changed.
Read any response deadline and the choices the provider offers. Do not accept or reject a change just to clear a notification before considering the rest of the trip. If the meaning is unclear, contact the seller or airline through its official channel and ask for the options applicable to that booking. Keep its explanation and your response together.
Review the arrangements linked to the flight
Make a short dependency list: transport to the airport, parking, hotel arrival, onward tickets and any collection with closing hours. Check those reservations against the revised schedule. Contact a provider when the new time affects its actual service, using the relevant booking reference and the new local arrival estimate.
If a later arrival means missing a final train or an accommodation check-in window, resolve that practical problem before keeping the rest of the itinerary unchanged. Conversely, do not cancel useful arrangements unnecessarily when they still fit. Compare the full consequences of available flight options, including any extra overnight stay or repeated airport journey, rather than choosing on the new flight time alone.
Replace stale information and check again
Update your shared calendar and the brief itinerary used by the travelling party. Label the superseded schedule clearly or remove it from the main travel note. Check whether the airline requires a new boarding pass after the change. Tell the person collecting you the new flight details, including the date, rather than asking them to remember a verbal adjustment.
Close to departure, review the live status and follow the airline’s instructions on when to arrive. A displayed delay does not automatically mean check-in or security deadlines have moved. If further disruption occurs, preserve the sequence of notices and the provider’s directions. A notebook or digital note is helpful when it records decisions and references, rather than merely accumulating screenshots with no indication of which version is current.
