First-night university packing worksheet
Pack for the first evening and morning before building a full term-time shopping list. Start with access to your room, something to sleep in, the things you need for your usual personal routine and a way to manage your first meal. Check what the accommodation actually provides before adding more.
Divide the list into a bag you can reach immediately, items arriving with the main luggage and decisions that can wait until you have seen the room. The aim is a workable first night using what you already own, with later optional purchases kept off the immediate essentials list.
This tool does not save your entries automatically. Download a copy to keep your work, and clear the worksheet on a shared device before leaving. Do not enter passwords, account numbers or other sensitive personal information.
Using your worksheet
- Check the supplied inventory and bed dimensions before packing bedding.
- Keep the first-night bag reachable during the journey and unloading.
- After arrival, review the optional list against actual storage space and shared equipment.
Assumptions and limits
