Choose under-bed storage that clears the frame
Under-bed storage needs to fit the lowest obstruction beneath your bed, including supports that are hidden in a sales photograph.
Check the empty space from the side you will use. A box may fit underneath yet be impossible to pull out when a bedside table or radiator blocks the handle.

Measure the useful opening
Measure the floor-to-frame gap at several points and note centre supports. Include the lid, wheels and handles in the container height. If the bed flexes during normal use, follow the bed maker’s guidance rather than using every millimetre of clearance.
Choose the opening method
A hinged lid needs space above the box; a removable lid needs somewhere to rest. Zip bags compress but offer less rigid protection. Decide whether you will access the contents weekly or only between seasons before choosing a closure.
Pack by the way you retrieve things
Group bedding separately from shoes and label the end facing you. Avoid creating one heavy container that is awkward to drag. For textiles, follow care guidance and store them dry; a sealed bag is not a remedy for damp material.
Test one container before buying a set
Buy or measure a single example first. Check that it slides across your flooring without marking it and that its loaded handle is usable. Compare the usable internal dimensions because tapered walls can reduce the space available for folded bedding.
