Build a seminar preparation note from one reading
A seminar preparation note should help you join the discussion, not reproduce the whole reading.
Use the module’s questions and your own notes. Keep the text reference and page numbers so you can return to the relevant passage during the session.

Read the seminar task first
Identify the question the session asks you to discuss. Check which reading is required and whether particular sections are named. If instructions conflict, ask the module team instead of assuming the longest reading is the priority.
Write the author’s claim
Summarise the main argument in your own words and note where it appears. Separate the author’s position from your interpretation. Keep any direct quotation clearly marked with its source so it does not become an unattributed sentence later.
Choose a discussion point
Write one question or example that connects with the task. Note what you do not understand. A specific uncertainty gives you a better starting point than a page of copied highlights you have not interpreted.
Keep the note easy to use
Use a short heading and the reading reference. Bring the note in the format permitted for the session. Afterwards, add only the clarification that changes your understanding rather than rewriting the whole discussion as another set of lecture notes.
