Sort by original type
Separate loose sheets, bound pages, photographs and fragile items. Check the supported media and feeding instructions. Do not put irreplaceable or delicate originals through an automatic feeder unless the device guidance explicitly supports the arrangement.

Test a mixed sample
Scan a non-sensitive receipt and ordinary page, then check legibility and page order. Keep originals until any retention requirement and your own verification are satisfied. A successful scan does not automatically mean an original can safely or lawfully be destroyed.
