Choose baking trays that fit the oven runners
A baking tray needs to fit your oven and leave the clearances required by the oven instructions.
Check both the tray’s outer dimensions and the usable cooking area. Handles and raised rims can make the outside much larger than the part that holds food.

Measure the oven arrangement
Read the oven manual and measure the relevant shelf or supported runner position when cold. Do not block vents or use a tray as an oven-floor liner unless the appliance instructions permit it.
Compare usable area
Match the flat cooking area to a normal batch and recipe. A deep roasting tin and a shallow baking tray have different purposes. Check whether the quoted size includes the rim before comparing prices by area.
Read material and temperature limits
