Compare online lessons by the practice they include
An online lesson should give you a way to practise the skill, not only time spent watching a video.
Read the current course outline and sample material before paying. Separate access duration, feedback and any qualification claim so you know what the price covers.

Check the intended learner
Read prerequisite knowledge and the level of examples. Compare them with something you can already do. A beginner label can mean different things across providers, so inspect a sample rather than relying on the category name.
Look for practice tasks
Check whether exercises, files or assessments are included and what software they require. Confirm that you can use the materials on your own device. An exercise that needs an unavailable licence may leave the main learning task inaccessible.
Check help and feedback
Read whether questions receive tutor feedback, peer discussion or no direct response. Check any time limits. Do not infer individual teaching from a promotional phrase about support.
Compare the full commitment
Include subscriptions, required tools and the time you can realistically study. Read cancellation and access terms directly. A discounted annual plan is useful only when its format and commitment suit the learning you intend to do.
Make the next decision from your own setup
Before choosing a paid resource or buying stationery, try the method with materials you already have. Record the point where you need more help or a different format. Use that observation to select support or equipment, and check access requirements. A new notebook or course should answer a learning need you can describe. Use these checks when comparing online lessons by the practice they include.
