It features an intelligent, forward-thinking approach to design and ergonomics that delivers a hearing protection and enhancement system without precedent in the shooting sports and hunting industries. This electronic muff features an ergonomic design headband design with controls for maximum comfort and convenience. It has rubber bumpers on lower cups and fewer holes in the muff cups for improved NRR. Powered by the two included AAA batteries this headphone gives low battery warning. It has auto shut-off function at 2/4/6 hours.Four Different Listening ModesThe XCEL 500BT allows the wearer to select between four different listening modes: Universal (for sound amplification), Speech Clarity (for discriminating voices and enhancing verbal communication in a noisy environment), High Frequency (tuned specifically to hear steel target impact at long distances), and Power Boost (amplifies sound across the range of volume). All the modes are accessible via the soft-touch button control panel located on the headband.Improved Hearing ProtectionThe XCEL 500BT’s Sound-Activated Compression and variable Dynamic Sound Suppression automatically adjusts compression time according to noise level intensity and duration instead of using conventional “fixed-time” compression. The result is improved hearing protection regardless of the sound environment. Convenient Operational ModesVoice prompts for the entire menu allow the user to select the available operational modes. This makes navigation very simple and removes the guesswork as to which mode the unit is in. The XCEL 500BT Earmuff also comes with programmable auto shut-off, so forgetting to turn the muffs off and accidentally running down batteries is a thing of the past.Bluetooth ConnectivityBluetooth compatibility is another valuable feature.
