The 3D Memory Crystal™ Rectangle for Christmas is the Beyond Memories® holiday-season keepsake - a vertical block of K9 optical crystal engraved with a family photo, a holiday portrait, or a defining moment from a Christmas past. Razor-sharp 90-degree edges, formal portrait orientation, and the engraving floats in three dimensions inside the crystal. The natural choice when the gift needs to outlast the holiday itself - a keepsake that comes back to the mantel every December, year after year. Every Christmas Rectangle starts with the photo you upload at checkout. Our design team in Henderson, Nevada reviews and enhances the image for laser clarity, our artists set up the 3D engraving model, and a 4K laser fires millions of microscopic points inside the crystal - building the image one layer at a time from the inside out. Hand-polished, inspected, packed in a gift-ready box. Real artists, not algorithms. 100% K9 optical crystal - lifetime clarity, scratch-resistant, never fades Rectangle portrait orientation - the natural format for vertical family photos 4K laser engraving - millions of refractive points etched inside the crystal volume Expert photo enhancement included - we touch up exposure, color, and background Five sizes from Small to Max - pick by family display intent Engrave a family portrait, a holiday-card photo, a generation-spanning candid, or a tribute portrait Standard or 4K HD engraving - HD gives finest gradient detail Compatible with the Memory Light Base for illuminated holiday display Premium gift-ready box included at no extra charge Perfect for the Christmas gift that stays past New Year's The Rectangle for Christmas works for the gift-giving moments where a card and a sweater aren't enough. Most-ordered scenarios: grandparent Christmas gifts (a family portrait the grandparents display year-round), holiday-card photo as a keepsake (the same family photo that went on this year's holiday card, engraved as a permanent piece), the first Christmas in a new home (the family-in-front-of-the-tree shot, dated), a tribute Christmas keepsake (a portrait of a loved one no longer with us, displayed quietly through the holiday season), and baby's first Christmas (the family-of-three portrait, engraved with the year). For an ornament-format Christmas gift, see the Heart Ornament; for the heart silhouette in a tabletop format, see Heart for Christmas. How the personalization works The engraving is built inside the crystal, not on its surface. After you upload the photo at checkout, our design team reviews it and enhances it for engraving clarity - sharpening detail, balancing exposure, simplifying busy backgrounds where helpful. We convert the photo into a 3D model that maps to the rectangle's dimensions. The 4K laser leaves microscopic refractive points at exact depths inside the K9 glass, forming the image with lifelike volume. You can layer the portrait with text - family name, year, "Merry Christmas" or a short message - via Special Instructions at checkout. What photo works best The rectangle favors vertical portraits - the formal family-in-front-of-the-tree shot, a candid from Christmas morning, the holiday-card photo. Clear, well-lit photos in JPG or PNG format (ideally 2,000 px on the long edge or larger) give the sharpest engraving. Avoid heavy filters, low resolution, or shots where faces are small in the frame. Plain or softly-blurred backgrounds engrave with more depth than busy holiday backdrops. Professional family-portrait photographers typically deliver files at the right resolution - use those rather than social-media downloads. What's in the box Your crystal ships in a premium gift-ready box - a navy presentation box with the Beyond Memories wordmark in gold, a soft microfiber pouch for cleaning, and a printed care card. The crystal is nested in custom-cut foam to survive transit. If you add a Memory Light Base at checkout, it ships in the same box with its USB-C power cable. Crystal care K9 optical crystal is scratch-resistant and water-safe - the engraving is locked inside the glass, not on its surface. Wipe with the included microfiber cloth to remove fingerprints from the edges. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight, which is the only environment that can dim a 3D photo crystal over a span of decades. A drop of dish soap in warm water is safe for occasional deeper cleaning. The crystal pairs naturally with any indoor surface - mantel, nightstand, bookshelf, console table, or display cabinet.
