The 3D Memory Crystal™ Square for Mom from Beyond Memories® is the modern square edition of our signature Mom crystal - a precision-cut block of optical glass with clean 90-degree edges, engraved with your favorite photo of Mom (or you with Mom, or her grandchildren) in true three-dimensional detail. The square shape works beautifully on Mom's dresser, vanity, console, or office desk, and feels right at home in any decor - modern, traditional, or somewhere in between. Your photo is sculpted into a true three-dimensional model and laser-engraved deep inside the K9 optical crystal using a precision 4K subsurface laser. The portrait is permanent, lives inside the glass, and is finished by real artists in our studio in Henderson, Nevada - not algorithms. For Mom's birthday, pair the crystal with her favorite flowers and you have a gift she will photograph and send to the family group chat. For the quietest occasions - a Sunday lunch, the first day after a hard week, the Christmas she didn't expect - the square crystal feels like an everyday gift that also turns out to be the most meaningful thing she has on her vanity. For grandmothers, the Square engraved with a photo of the grandchildren becomes a centerpiece on the console table in the entryway, where every guest sees it the moment they walk in. How the personalization works Pick the size that fits Mom's space (Small fits a vanity or bedside, Medium anchors a console, Large or XL becomes the centerpiece). Upload your favorite photo of Mom through our simple uploader. Our photo team removes the background, balances the lighting, and prepares the image for 3D conversion. We then sculpt the portrait in three dimensions and use a precision 4K subsurface laser to engrave the model inside the K9 crystal. Standard production is 1-2 business days. What photo of Mom works best in the Square The square shape is the most versatile in our lineup. A clear portrait of Mom against any simple background works beautifully (we will clean up the background for you). A photo of Mom with you, with your kids, or with her own mother engraves with emotional impact. Group photos of Mom with the whole family work especially well in the Medium and Large sizes. Avoid extreme close-ups where only part of the face is visible, photos with heavy beauty filters that erase detail, and very busy backgrounds. Send us 2-3 options after ordering and our team will recommend the strongest engraving candidate for the square geometry. What's in the box Every Square for Mom ships in our satin-lined gift presentation box with a polishing cloth, a care card, and a Beyond Memories® certificate of authenticity. The presentation is designed for direct gifting: Mom opens the box and the crystal is cradled in soft satin against dark linen lining, ready to lift out and display. Crystal care K9 optical crystal is built to outlive Mom's living room redesigns. Display the crystal away from direct sunlight in any room. Dust monthly with the included microfiber polishing cloth. For deeper cleaning, use a soft cloth with a small amount of glass cleaner sprayed onto the cloth (never directly onto the crystal). Avoid extreme heat or harsh chemicals. The engraving is inside the glass and will not fade. Production and shipping Standard production is 1-2 business days after your order. Express shipping options are available at checkout for time-sensitive gifts. Orders placed before 9 AM PT begin production the same business day. Frequently asked questions What's the difference between the Square for Mom and the Rectangle for Mom? The Square is taller-feeling and works with both single and group portraits; the Rectangle is vertical and works best with a single subject framed tall. The Square is the more modern aesthetic; the Rectangle is the more classical. Can I engrave a photo of Mom with her grandkids? Yes - this is one of the most popular Square for Mom orders. Multi-generation portraits work beautifully in the Medium and Large sizes. What if the photo is from years ago and a little blurry? Send it anyway. Our photo team can often restore older images. If we cannot get the photo to engraving quality, we will reach out before production. Do I need the Light Base? The crystal reads beautifully on its own. The Light Base (sold separately) illuminates the engraving from below in eight LED colors and is recommended for nightstand or low-light placements. Is this a good gift for a grandmother? Yes - with a photo of the grandchildren, this is one of our most-gifted grandmother orders and consistently appears in our top reviews. What if Mom doesn't love it? We have a 30-day satisfaction promise. If the engraving doesn't capture the moment the way you imagined, we will rework it at no cost or refund the order.
