Bedding size and compatibility worksheet

Compare bedding with the actual mattress, duvet and pillows it needs to fit. Record measured dimensions and the terminology used by each retailer separately, rather than assuming that the same size name always identifies the same measurements. Include mattress depth when checking a fitted sheet.

Keep the item you own and each candidate in distinct rows, with the source and date for quoted dimensions. If a fit range, tolerance or depth is missing, record the question for the retailer. This worksheet helps organise a comparison; it does not invent bedding dimensions or guarantee fit from a label alone.

Measure the existing bedding system

Use centimetres throughout and identify what each measurement describes.

Candidate bedding record

Add a row for each sheet, protector, duvet cover or pillowcase being considered.

Entry 1

Record the comparison

Compare the relevant measurements and stated fit information, not just the size names.

Using your worksheet

  1. Measure the mattress and any topper as they will actually be used.
  2. Match duvet covers to the duvet measurements and pillowcases to the pillows, separately from the mattress size.
  3. Preserve the retailer’s original size name while recording the numeric dimensions.
  4. Resolve an unknown fit range or depth before treating a fitted item as compatible.

Assumptions and limits

No standard size table, stretch allowance or shrinkage claim is supplied.

The result remains a user comparison against recorded dimensions and retailer wording.
