Resort apartment facilities
Check shared facilities for a privately rented resort apartment
An apartment inside a resort or residence can be booked through an owner or manager whose service differs from the main hotel operation. The pool, reception and restaurants visible in the property's photographs may have separate access arrangements. Establish what belongs to your specific reservation before relying on the wider complex's facilities.
Treat the apartment and shared amenities as two connected parts of the stay. You need a clear contact for the accommodation itself and a confirmed way to use any shared space that matters to you. A name shared with the resort does not answer those questions on its own.

Identify who operates each part of the stay
Check who holds your reservation, who hands over the apartment and who deals with maintenance inside it. Then ask whether the building's reception serves your booking or only accommodation managed through another operator. Do not assume a staffed desk in the lobby can amend your reservation or provide keys to a privately managed unit.
Chamonix's official booking service lists facilities for specific residence accommodation, while Airbnb's host rules require amenity restrictions to be disclosed in listings. Use the actual apartment description as your reference. A general page for the wider complex may describe services available to a different group of guests or a different booking product.
Confirm access to each shared facility
List the pool, gym, garden, lounge or other space you expect to use and ask whether access is included for every guest in your reservation. Check whether a card, wristband, registration or separate payment is required. Ask who supplies it and what happens if it is unavailable when you arrive.
Confirm the facility's location within the site and whether the apartment is in a building that has access to it. A photograph of a nearby pool may show a shared amenity, a separately managed facility or another part of the residence. Ask the owner to identify it clearly rather than inferring access from proximity.
Check dates, hours and operating conditions
Ask about seasonal opening, planned maintenance and any session system for your actual dates. If the facility is essential to the booking, obtain the answer before committing rather than accepting a vague statement that it is normally open. Read current notices again on arrival because an operating change may affect the plan.
Check age, supervision, accessibility and equipment requirements directly with the relevant operator where needed. Permission to stay in the apartment does not by itself establish suitability for a pool or leisure activity. Make a practical plan for the whole party and avoid assuming the owner can waive rules set by a separate facility manager.
Separate hotel-style services from apartment services
Ask whether housekeeping, linen changes, breakfast and room delivery are included, available to purchase or not offered through your booking. A residence may have a restaurant without providing a meal plan to every apartment. Check how any additional service is reserved and billed so the owner and on-site team give consistent information.
Clarify parcel or grocery receipt, waste disposal and assistance with room faults. Keep the apartment manager's contact details available independently of the resort reception. If one team directs you to another, note which responsibility each has rather than expecting the first visible staff member to manage every aspect of the stay.
Verify the arrangement and return access items
At arrival, check that the apartment and any promised passes match the confirmation. Ask for a short explanation of shared-area access and the route back to your own building. Report missing access promptly through the booking provider or manager, with the exact inclusion you relied on, so a practical response can be arranged.
Follow the shared-space rules and keep access items with authorised guests. Before departure, return cards, wristbands or keys through the stated process and clarify whether any facilities remain available after apartment checkout. Retain the specific listing and messages if a later question concerns what the booking included, rather than relying on the resort's general promotional page.
